The Book of Ruth

The Book of Judges speaks of the depressing dark history of the children of Israel. When it comes to Ruth, it gives a glimpse of light and hope. What a contrast with the book of Judges!

Ruth is like a lovely lily in a stagnant pool... 

Here, instead of unfaithfulness, is loyalty. 
And instead of immorality, is purity. 

Here, instead of battle fields are harvest fields.
And instead of warriors' shout, is the gleaner's song!
