Faith comes by hearing

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

- The ultimate act of faith is by hearing the word of God, i.e. the word of God convicting the heart, bringing about confession of sins, and conversion of souls

- Signs cannot bring about similar effects because signs are for authentication of His Messiahship and not conviction of sins. Hence many of the Pharisees believe in His signs, yet not believing in His Person. Mat 11:20 虽行了许多异能，但还是终不悔改
