The Sacrifices for Sins
The OT sacrifices can never take away sins (Heb 10:11), neither can they make man perfect (Heb 10:1)
- foreshadowed the slaying of the Lamb of God
- temporary appeased God, and have sins forgiven
- but lacked the power to overcome sins
The sacrifice of Christ, once and for all, have perfected those who believed (Heb 10:12-14)
- foreshadowing being in the presence of the Lamb once slain
- gives power of His resurrection to overcome sins, freed us from the bondage
- but lacks the complete eradication of sins
This sacrifice for sins will have its fullness and finality when He comes again (Heb 8:11). And there will be no more remembrance of sins, nor the need for any sin offering (Heb 10:18)
- the complete fulfillments of the OT foreshadows and the NT absence of the Lord bodily
- the bodily presence of the Lord eradicates sins totally
- no more remembrance of sins, neither is there a need of the sin offering!
- sins forgotten
Praise the Lord!
